(Poem & Art) The Myrrh-Bearers by Nuit Moore

Myrrh-Bearers by Nuit Moore

The Myrrh-Bearers
keening of heavy womb,
pause with silence
before the temple tomb.
Cave of crowning,
birthing-bled, robes of red.
The mysteries of the bitter root-
the slain fruit of the vine,
the holy wine,
born of holy blood-
Behold the Divine.
Mary, Mari, Mariah attend-
re-veil the descent,
reveal the ascent,
liberate the lament-
for the eternal rebirth
resurrects without end.
