| Region/Origin | Pohang Guman-ri (Ninety Thousand Township) |
| Toponym/Motif | Bridge Reef |
| Divine/Agent | Mago Halmeom |
| Lore/Information | There lived Mago Halmeom in Guman-ri (Ninety-Thousand Township) in Daebo-myeon. She used to visit Mt. Chuk in Yeongdeok. The road to Yeongdeok was far and rough. Thus, she wanted to build a stone bridge on Yeongil Bay. The sea from Guman-ri (Ninety-Thousand Township) to Yeongil Bay was rough even on ordinary days. Furthermore, it was very deep. Choosing a day of calm waves, Mago Halmeom began building a stone bridge. Nonetheless, she could not complete it before the sunrise. The rocks alleged to have been carried by her in her skirt wrap are placed under the water in a straight line from Guman to Chuksan. People call it Bridge Reef. |

(To be continued)
these tales remind me a lot of the Cailliach in Scotland. She to was carrying rocks in her skirt and wondered about shaping the land. There must be some kind of a connection
I am so happy to hear that, Ene! I hear that from others too. Yes, there is a major connection (pre- and proto-patriarchal) that I am going to write about in the coming months and years!
