(Photo Essay 8) Goddess Pilgrimage 2018

[Author’s Note: In May 2018, I set out on a 3 month pilgrimage to Greece, Turkey and the prehistory sites of “Old Europe”. Once again my main focus was “visiting with the Grandmothers”.]

In my month in Bulgaria I swam in the Black Sea, climbed mountain trails to caves and Neolithic shelters, stood in ancient stone circles, visited archeological sites and Thracian tombs, joined an archaeological dig, met some wonderful people, and visited 17 museums. Mother Goddess was everywhere . . .

“The sitting Chalcolithic Goddesses project confidence, independence, solemnity . . . connected to everything existing on earth and in the sky . . . looking at us from the threshold of eternity.” Ventislav Gergov, Bulgarian archeologist.
