Danica Anderson The Kolo: Women’s Cross Cultural Collaboration- UNESCO Scientific & Education Council danica@kolocollaboration.org Event: I am invited to speak to the class of Introduction to Creatrix Studies (taught by Dr. Helen Hwang) on March 3. Title is Kolo Informed Trauma (KIT): Epigenetic Memory, Matristic Knowledge, and Living Tacit Knowledge Archives. This talk introduces Kolo Informed Trauma (KIT) as a matristic framework grounded in female biology, epigenetic memory, and oral memory practices. Central to KIT is the understanding that the epigenetic memory gene—linked to meaning, purpose, and growth—is matristic in nature, shaped through female biological processes and sustained through repetition, rhythm, and daily life practices rather than survival dominance. Drawing on decades of clinical and fieldwork with women war survivors, I examine how matristic knowledge systems preserve memory not through texts alone, but through artifacts, foodways, domestic architecture, ritual objects, and embodied practices that function as living archives. These artifacts are not symbolic remnants of the past, but active biosemiotic structures through which culture, homeostasis, and continuity are carried forward across generations. The talk situates KIT within matristic histories and practices, offering a lens for understanding how women’s knowledge systems encode survival, meaning, and regeneration beyond patriarchal historical erasure.
Helen Benigni Mago Academy, Creatrix Studies Course: “Female Divine in Myth, History and Culture” begins on March 2 for 4 weeks. This course traces the evolution of the basic archetypes of the Goddesses of Life, Death and Regeneration outlined by Marija Gimbutas as they evolve from the Paleolithic Era to the Bronze and Iron Ages. Focus on the Creatrix and Regeneration Goddesses in Western Europe and the Mediterranean reveals attributes in the matricentric cultures that allowed all forms of the Goddess to flourish as part of an expression of the Female Divine in myth, history and culture. (Continue to read for course summary.) Registration $50 here. https://www.magoacademy.org/2025/12/28/registration-open-female-divine-in-myth-history-and-culture/.
Judy Grahn Mago Academy, Creatrix Studies Course: The S/HE Forum by Judy Grahn on two Saturdays (2nd and 4th) in February, “Inanna: Examples of Eros and Justice.” Sumerian goddess Inanna is extremely complex, paradoxical, centered in the powers of a woman’s body, and immanent everywhere. Our forum will feature two of her qualities: her erotic love, and her concerns with justice. Feb 7 Dr. Grahn will read some of Inanna’s love poetry, and Dr. Jenett will bring in additional poetry from a civilization in the Indus Valley of north India, that both paralleled and directly traded with Sumer. The Sangam literature addresses the lush erotic powers of women, and the uniquely female quality of attractiveness known as ananku in the literature, and called kuzbu in ancient Sumerian literature. Then on Feb 21, Dr. Grenn will present on the Sumerian/Mesopotamian tradition of Lilith as a figure who resisted a patriarchal paradigm in choosing to flee the prison of “Paradise”, and Dr. Grahn will complete the Forum with her analysis of Inanna’s justice, and in particular her protection of the sexual autonomy of women. Registration $30 here: https://www.magoacademy.org/2025/12/29/s-he-forum-course-spring-2026-registration/.

Tamara Wyndham Story: The Wolf Moon Ritual/Performance: A ritual of joy and release to bring out our inner wild wolf! The ritual was conceived by Tamara Wyndham with collaboration by the other performers. We howled together to call the directions. Then we howled out our pain. Then we howled out our joy. Our howls called forth the dance of the Wolf Spirit. The dancer, Breadpussy, designed their costume and wolf bride mask. Then Breadpussy removed their costume and laid down. Tamara performed a body printing – the making of an artwork by applying paint to the dancer’s body and pressing it onto cloth. Meanwhile, Jennifer told the story of La Loba. This ended with everyone dancing and howling together. Westbeth Community Space, New York City, January 3rd, 2026. Performing: Breadpussy – dance; Kelvin Daly – music on instruments of his own design; Eric Blitz – drums; Jennifer Gonzalez Blitz – storytelling and vocals; Tamara Wyndham – body printing.
RTME Editorial Carolyn Lee Boyd: I am excited to have conducted a video interview with Xochitl Alvizo and Janet Rudolph of the group blog Feminism and Religion (feminismandreligion.com) which is now posted on RTME and also on the Feminism and Religion homepage through January. I hope to do two more video interviews with other leaders of organizations in the coming months with the thought that these are a wonderful way for us all to learn more about the organizations’ missions, activities, and more to enhance both outreach and collaboration among the Nine Sisters Network. Helen Hye-Sook Hwang: I am grateful that Return to Mago E-Magazine takes a leap to lead the movement of Matriversal Feminism. May those who persevere to realize the vision for ALL flourish!
